About
I was born in Chicago, 1963. I’m single, male and opinionated. I work as an Air Traffic Controller in one of the busiest facilities in the world. It’s never been a joy for me to report to any job, but I didn’t used to dread it like I do now. I’m counting the days until I’m eligible to retire, and as of today, that count is… (let’s see, nine plus nine is eighteen, carry the one…check!) 2,218 days. Note to self: see if there is a widget that will let me put a real-time countdown on the page.
I am a Christian and profess my faith in my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ…but I’m not very good at it. I try to attend church when I can, participate in small group Bible studies and discussions, but I struggle with my faith on a daily basis. I’m not in the Word as I should be and I don’t have much of a prayer life. Of course I’m working on all these things, but probably my biggest struggle is with the “greatest commandment”. I really don’t like people very much, so loving them is almost impossible.
I live in Spring, TX, just north of Houston and I’ve been here for almost 17 years. That’s not enough to qualify as a Texan, but it’s close. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. I used to have hobbies, but now I only have interests. I am a licensed private pilot, amateur computer programmer, wannabe guitar player and professional drinker. I can cook and sometimes enjoy it, movies are fun, and any kind of music or food festival, and I’m there if possible. I would like to travel again, especially internationally. I spent almost 10 years in the U.S. Air Force, six of those as an aircrew member, so I pretty much got that bug out of my system for quite a while. I’m especially interested in Ireland and Scotland, Spain, Italy, Thailand, Singapore and maybe India.
This is starting to sound like a personal ad, so I’ll just stop there.
